This qualification is designed for anyone wanting to become qualified in administering first aid to children and infants. For the purposes of child carers within England, Wales and Northern Ireland, it is a requirement to be completed to fulfil legal obligations under the statutory framework for the Early Year’s Foundation Stage issued by the Department for Education and Skills.
This course is ideal for anyone who works with or comes into contact with infants and children in their working or voluntary roles. This course is also ideal for parents and families with young children
This qualification consists of two units:
- Emergency Paediatric First Aid H/506/0792
- Managing Paediatric Illness, Injuries and Emergencies D/506/0791
Guided Learning Hours: 22
Level 3 award in paediatric first aid at work (QCF) requires a minimum of 12 classroom hours.
The number of tutor‐led contact hours required to support learner achievement of a unit/module or qualification.
Where this qualification is undertaken in less than 22 hrs, additional learner instruction may be undertaken through research (i.e. Internet), reading or work based activities.
