Swimming Lessons for Parents and Children (Swimming Teachers Association (STA)) Seahorse Swim School

Qualification Overview

Since 2001, Seahorse Swim School has operated the STA incentive based swimming skills scheme – Through the STA International Learn to Swim Programme (ILSP) millions of children worldwide have learned to swim. Seahorse Swim School has been a huge contributor towards this magnificent achievement, significantly having taught many hundreds of children to swim and be safe in the water.

The ILSP and Seahorse Swim School recognise that pupils learn to swim at many different ages and progress at varying paces. It also appreciates that swimming teachers use different techniques and have different levels of experience and that pool operators have diverse requirements. But at the same time, both parties understand that at no stage should safety, quality standards or consistency be compromised. The ILSP consists of five progressive schemes which are interlinked. There is a standalone scheme for people with disabilities, supporting awards for the more competent swimmer and diver and an introduction to the First Aid award.

Whilst the ILSP is a complete and comprehensive scheme, Seahorse Swim School concentrates on the fundamentals of teaching children to swim and be safe in the water. It is an exclusive swim school, run by DjB Training & Development Ltd at a high quality venue of which they have exclusive use during their teaching sessions, just a short drive from head office in Hitchin Hertfordshire.

In addition to our onsite programs, our resident ASA/IoS Aquatics Tutor is able to offer the full range of ASA/IoS Training/Teaching and Coaching products through our partners at Active Luton.
